Remember Important Birthdays!

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

birthdayIf you are absolutely the worst at remembering your friends’ and family members’ birthdays, then you need to immediately download the Birthday Reminder iPhone application. Of course, you can always get birthday updates on Facebook, but I’m the type of person that always forgets to check and looks like a bad friend. If you want to avoid this type of embarrassment, then let technology be on your side.

The Birthday Reminder app from the iPhone will let you download all of the same information from Facebook that has your friend’s birthdays so you can see birthday updates off-line. This is an application that only focuses on birthdays, but you can actually use it to warm people’s hearts when you remember their special day. Your friends and family will begin to think you are amazing with all of the birthdays that you can remember, and you don’t necessarily have to divulge your secret. Yes, many people just check out Facebook to find out birthday information, but you can stay one step ahead of the game by directly accessing the birthdays of your friends, family members, and coworkers through this handy little application. This will keep you from looking embarrassed when you forget an important event!

Interesting iPod touch and iPhone App Rumors

Monday, October 19th, 2009

iphoneIf rumors are true, there could be some pretty interesting news coming up in the world. Apple may soon be releasing an FM radio app for the iPod touch and the iPhone. It will also work for current models, so it will not require anything new on your part. Apple is potentially planning on using the FM transceiver that is already within the devices to create this FM radio application.

If you love listening to the radio, then this may be right up your alley. Of course, you do have to have an iPod touch or iPhone to get this radio application. However, this will also mean that there is not anything that your iPod touch or iPhone cannot do! Of course, you can already listen to your entire musical playlist on your device, but some people still like the novelty of the radio. In fact, if you’re someone who likes to listen to the news or talk radio on the radio, then this will be even more convenient for you. Keep your ears open for this new app being potentially introduced by Apple, even though it is just a rumor at this point. For everyone’s sake, we can only hope that it is true!

Eat Healthy With Women’s Health App

Friday, October 9th, 2009

kashiI usually check out Women’s Health online on a daily basis, and I will often do it from my iPhone. I love getting the magazine, and I still love checking out the website because it has tons of information on fitness, beauty – you name it. One of the latest posts that I saw on the website was the new iPhone app that is supposed to be a grocery store companion. This is extremely helpful, especially since I have been trying to eat a little bit healthier. That’s pretty hard to do when you are in the grocery store, and you don’t have any type of guidance!

This iPhone app gives nutritional information on 250 healthy foods that you can find in a grocery store. What I really love about this app is that it does give a detailed description of all of the good benefits of a specific type of food, including how many calories it has. This is so much easier than reading every single label if you are looking for a certain type of cereal, so it has helped me save a lot of time at the grocery store. I would definitely recommend this app if you are trying to eat healthy!

Use Skype On Your iPhone

Monday, October 5th, 2009

logo_skypeAs if the iPhone already doesn’t have so much to offer, you can now use Skype over WiFi through an application on your iPhone. This is especially helpful for anyone who may be conducting business with clients or associates in other countries. Many people rely upon the use of Skype so that they do not have to pay costly phone bills by instead talking over WiFi. This will also be much more convenient than using the microphone on your computer to make long-distance calls through this application.

Many people already know that using Skype through the microphone on your computer can often sound muffled and distorted. Using the Skype application on your iPhone is going to give you much more advanced technologies so that you can have a clear phone call over long-distance using WiFi on your iPhone. This is also what so many people who conduct business on the go have been looking for because it can be a serious hassle to set up your entire laptop and microphone to have a Skype phone call. Why not just use your iPhone if you have the Skype application available to make long-distance communication that much easier for you? This is an application worth downloading.

Are You Loving iPhone TweetDeck?

Friday, September 4th, 2009

twitterI am a big fan of TweetDeck myself, and what better way to enjoy it than from the convenience of your iPhone? Obviously, Twitter is all the rage these days, with even celebrities endorsing themselves to be followed via Twitter. Twitter is a great vehicle for keeping in touch and also growing your business, which is why you need to get this application for your iPhone right away if you already are a Twitter user.

TweetDeck is a really convenient application because it gives you a different layout to Twitter altogether. You can see Twitter in multiple columns and also with all of your user groups separated. It is similar to TwitterFON and other like applications, but it is incredibly convenient for an iPhone user who also loves Twitter. I have to tell you that I was skeptical about Twitter at first, but now I definitely am hooked. It is a great way to meet new people, learn new information, and have a different social media setting than other sources like Facebook or MySpace. Twitter seems to be more adult oriented, especially since so many people are using it for business purposes. If that sounds like you, then check out this application to give you even more convenience in following people on Twitter!

Are You a Creative Cook?

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

eggplantI am not necessarily the best of the best, but I certainly do love to cook. I always cook for my boyfriend and myself, and he praises my talents, so they must be decent! An amazing iPhone application that I discovered enables you to search through a huge database of different recipes from the Food Network. On top of loving to cook, I am also a Food Network junkie, so this is perfect for me.

There are a few categories to choose from to make your life easier. You can search by ingredient, which is great if you just happen to have a bunch of eggplant sitting in your refrigerator that you want to get rid of. You can also search based on the Chef, whoever may be your favorite. There are options for holiday meals, everyday meals, and recent choices. If you ever get stumped in your kitchen wondering what to cook for your family for dinner, then you’re going to love the help of this iPhone application because it will offer you the convenience of finding the perfect recipe in a minimal amount of time. Right now, I am loving my curry eggplant creation, and so is my boyfriend!

Tweet Your Coffee Love

Monday, August 31st, 2009

coffeeGrabbing a cup of Joe is where it’s at, and we all know that coffee houses are the way to socialize with all of your friends, stay connected, and also make business decisions. What better way to utilize all of these benefits than with the Coffee Buzz iPhone application? It just makes sense. This application focuses on the use of Google maps to allow you to find nearby coffee houses and also to tell you which of your friends is having a coffee near you. This works with Twitter, which allows you to tweet that you are having a cup of Joe at a specific location.

For anyone who is a lover of Twitter, then you will also be a lover of this application because you can update your coffee habits in real time, and you can also find out where your friends are sharing a latte. Since this application uses Google maps, it is so convenient because it allows you to find any type of coffee in your location, which every coffee addict knows is a vital necessity. This is the best way to stay alert and make it through your workday with the use of this handy coffee locator iPhone application!

I Want To Go To Bali

Friday, August 28th, 2009

baliDon’t you?? Let me tell you, I have been using this awesome application on my iPhone, iPhone Travel. It is like having my own little travel agent within my device, and I am completely addicted to it. I am a planning a fun vacation with a group of friends, and they put me in charge of choosing the destination. This is a pretty big task because I have to make sure that everyone is happy, but on the flipside, I do not know who would not be happy going to a beautiful and exotic location. So my choice is Bali.

What do you think? There are a bunch of different things to see and do in this gorgeous vacation destination, and it all depends on where you go within Bali. For instance, some areas have ancient stone carvings, while others have rain forests that you can trek through. Still, some other places are beautiful resort areas, where you can snorkel and dive directly on the beach. I am thinking that my group of friends will be more attracted to laying out on the beach and swimming in a warm ocean, not necessarily the sightseeing of ancient Buddhist inscriptions and ruins, but at least there is something for everyone!

Beauty 1.0 App

Friday, August 21st, 2009

faceThis is a pretty interesting iPhone and iPod touch application choice from Dynadel. It is called Beauty 1.0, and it is a face analysis tool. This enables you to determine the symmetry and proportions of your face to see what type of traits that you possess. This is something that is often used to study a person’s face to determine their physical attractiveness and health quality based on the symmetry of their facial characteristics. This will take into account where the mouth, nose, and eyes are located to show how proportional they are to the face. This is based on a scale of 0 to 100, and 100 is the best score that you can get.

This may be something interesting to try, but if you have any type of self-esteem issues, then this may not be for you. It is a little daunting to put up a picture of your face, only to receive an 85 or 92. Why didn’t I get a perfect 100?? Do you see where I am going with this? It is interesting to use this tool, but you may want to think twice about using it on yourself because it could cause some serious insecurities when you are forced to consider yourself as a number. Still, it may be fun to use on celebrities to see how “beautiful” they really are!

Easy Food Selection With Urban Spoon

Monday, August 10th, 2009

sushiOne of my favorite iPhone apps of all time is the Urban Spoon. It works where you shake your iPhone, of course, and it allows you to have a different restaurant selection in your neighborhood pop up for you, depending on what kind of food you are looking for. It gets even better than that because it looks kind of like a Las Vegas slot machine, so you have the ability to lock certain components of the app to give you a different outcome. For instance, if you wanted a specific neighborhood in your city, then you could lock that neighborhood, and then shake the application so that you will have a different choice for the type of food and restaurant pop up.

Otherwise, you can lock the price range, depending if you want a cheaper or more expensive restaurant, and you can also lock down what type of food you want. This is totally perfect for those times when you are thinking, “Hmm.. I wish I knew of a good sushi restaurant in my neighborhood…” This is exactly what this application is for because it will allow you to lock down a Japanese food choice, and then shake your iPhone, and see what you get!
