The summer is upon us, which means that it is the season for a gorgeous pedicure. I actually have an app on my iPhone that helps me to find salons in my area, but I was thinking that maybe I could try to do it myself at home. For this reason, I have decided to provide some helpful tips for an at-home pedicure:
• Fill up your bathtub with warm water and sea salt, and soak your feet for five minutes.
• Cut your toenails straight across, and round the edges with a file.
• Scrub your feet and calves with an exfoliating scrub in circular motions for several minutes to remove dead skin.
• Use a callous softening product with a nonabrasive exfoliant to smooth out the bottom of your feet. Scrub for several minutes until they feel smooth to the touch.
• Rinse and dry your feet, and apply cuticle oil to minimize hangnails.
• Apply your color of choice, such as something bold and bright for the summer season.
• If you are looking for something more subtle, go for a light orange or poppy to complement your skin tone.
• Finish the at-home pedi by adding a top coat to set the polish in place.
Voilà! Don’t you feel like a million bucks?
